If you learn how to do it properly, cave diving can be a safe and very enjoyable sport to practice. On the other hand, if you do not follow the needed safety rules, it can turn into an extremely dangerous activity which could even be fatal. Therefore, before you practice this sport it is highly advisable that you consult an experienced cave diver and learn all the safety rules.

It is highly important that you have a continuous guideline which can lead out of the cave exit whenever you may need it in order to be able to reach it easily. Besides, it is also very important that you reserve two thirds of your starting gas in case you need it in an emergency and in order to make sure you will be able to reach the cave exit without any problems.
You should also always keep within operating limits that are safe for your breathing media. Besides this, you should always carry three light sources with you. You should never go cave diving without these light sources since lacking light could be fatal to you since you couldn`t be able to recognize your environment and reach the exit without it.
